Ranger Camp Relics

"I cannot do justice to all who, at the call of country, periled
their young lives nor show enough grief for the heroic dead
who sleep in unmarked graves...." L.B. Giles 8th Texas Cav.
Kentucky Rifle
Nice unmarked early percussion rifle. With a length of 46 inches and in about .36 caliber, this rifle has beautiful wood on the stock and a wonderfully pleasing color on all of the iron parts. Additionally, the butt plate, trigger guard and other furniture appear to be of German silver. The rear sight is open but the front sight is a hooded target type. This is a really neat gun with what I am sure would be an interesting history for someone with the desire to dig a little deeper.

I don't know who J.H. was but he was proud enough of his 14 inch horn to carve his initials into it.
