Ranger Camp Relics

"I cannot do justice to all who, at the call of country, periled
their young lives nor show enough grief for the heroic dead
who sleep in unmarked graves...." L.B. Giles 8th Texas Cav.
U.S. Model 1898 Krag Bowie Bayonet. Blade is 9 inches with an overall length of 13 3/4. Marked U.S. on one side and 1900 on the other. This is an excellent example of the rare Krag Bowie. The blade, cross guard and hilt are all uncleaned original bright. (the blade in the top picture is picking up too much flash) The scabbard has about 20 percent of the original blued finish. Only 500 of these were ever made and it is rare to one in this condition at this price.

U.S. Navy Model 1870 Rolling Block Rifle. This super post-war weapon has a USN Springfield Stamp that you can read from across the room. The barrel has the USN anchor and P H.B.R. inspector marks. The tang has the Remington patent dates May 3rd Nov 15th 1864-April 17th 1868. The metal parts are in great condition with a wonderful patina. The bore is bright and the rifling is arsenal sharp. The wood does have it's share of dings but it did spend a lot of it's time knocking around ships. There is a clear as a bell cartouche on the left wrist and rack stamp of 175 on the top of the butt. This is just a great rifle at an even better price. It would be proud to take a place in any U.S. Navy collection.
